About
Over the past decade, Pandar, aka Dan Parsons, has built a reputation in the UK underground for his “feel-good dance music” - a soulful, jazz-infused take on house that blends real instrumentation with an electronic edge. Based in the South of England, he’s developed a sound that draws from deep house, soulful house, broken beat, acid jazz and Latin house, always with an emphasis on rhythm, groove and uplifting energy.
Music has been a part of Dan’s life from the very beginning. Starting out by learning chords on the piano from songs he heard on the radio, he later joined school bands and picked up the drums, giving him the strong sense of rhythm that defines his productions today. His early love of disco, funk and soul gradually shifted to electronic music after moving away for university, where discovering artists like Disclosure inspired him to dive headfirst into DJing and production.
By 16, he was already playing house parties with mates on a small DJ controller, and at university he studied music production while building his name as an artist. With promoters slow to offer bookings, Pandar took matters into his own hands by running his own events, which soon led to gigs across the UK and a growing presence in the scene.
As a producer, he’s released music with Another Rhythm, AOC Records, Misplaced Recordings and independently, picking up support along the way from BBC Radio 1, NTS, Rinse FM and more. His 2025 deep house cut Missing You also earned a spot on fabric presents Pretty Girl, a highlight in his catalogue so far.
Since lockdown, vinyl has become a huge part of his story. What started with picking up records in second-hand shops has grown into a real passion - both for collecting and for DJing. These days Pandar plays most of his sets exclusively on wax, digging deep into soulful house, broken beat, acid jazz and lesser-known gems that make his sets stand out. Working at UK record store Nothing Ventured Vinyl has only fuelled that passion further, keeping him connected to a community of DJs, selectors and collectors. His YouTube mix series Vinyl Affairs also showcases his favourite finds and has started to build a small but loyal international following.
On the dancefloor, Pandar’s aim is simple: to bring people together through music that feels good. Whether through soulful house grooves, broken beat rhythms or jazz-laced deep house, his sets and productions are all about creating moments of joy and connection.
